U.S. New Jobless Claims Rose Slightly Last Week

The number of new jobless claims in the United States rose to 248,000 last week, less than market expectations of 219,000, an increase of 23,000 from the previous value, and the first rebound in three weeks. However, it was still below the high of 290,000 set in January. During the period, the number of continuous claims for unemployment benefits decreased by 26,000 to 1.593 million, which was better than the market expectation of 1.605 million. Although the number of new claims for unemployment benefits in the United States rebounded last week, the increase was slight, which is expected to not hinder the recovery trend of the local labor market.
