U.S. Initial Jobless Claims Beat Market Expectations Last Week


The number of Initial Jobless Claims in the United States fell to 223,000 last week, a decrease of 15,000 from the previous value, better than market expectations of 230,000, and hovering around the pre-pandemic weekly average. During the period, the number of continuing claims for unemployment benefits decreased by 7,000 to 1.621 million, which was lower than the market expectation of 1.615 million. The data showed that the recovery trend of the local labor market continued.
