Australia's Central Bank Announced To Keep All Monetary Policy Unchanged
The Reserve Bank of Australia kept all monetary policies unchanged after the interest rate meeting on Tuesday (1st), as expected by the market, and the interest rate remained at 0.1%. Governor Lowe pointed out that the situation in Ukraine has brought new uncertainty to the world, so the bank will temporarily keep interest rates unchanged and observe. However, Lowe also noted that there has been a series of good economic figures released recently, such as consumer spending, business investment and the labor market. Lowe, however, has not changed his precondition for a rate hike, which is to see a significant increase in wages. As for the change in Australian dollar interest rate futures prices, the market estimates that the RBA will raise interest rates by 15 basis points as soon as July, and the base rate is consensus.
