Progress in the new round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine

The new round of negotiations between Russian and Ukrainian representatives in Turkey ended on Tuesday. The Ukrainian representative proposed at the meeting to adopt neutrality in exchange for security guarantees, and also proposed to use 15 years to negotiate with Russia on the status of Crimea. As for what the Russian representative pointed out after the meeting, the negotiation was constructive and received a written proposal from the Uzbek side confirming its willingness to maintain its neutrality and non-nuclear status, including giving up the production and deployment of all types of weapons of mass destruction. The agreement is still subject to the approval of the foreign ministries of the two countries. If all goes well, the two heads of state will have the opportunity to arrange a formal meeting and sign the agreement.
