Ukraine nationalizes systemically important banks
According to local time on the 26th, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law to nationalize systemically important banks. The new law stipulates that if the Ukrainian central bank determines that a systemically important bank is bankrupt, it will notify the government, which will decide whether to nationalize the bankrupt bank. If it decides to nationalize, the government will buy the bank's shares from shareholders for 1 hryvnia. Currently, 14 financial institutions are included in the list of Ukrainian systemically important banks.
